This cramped 1950's ranch house was transformed into a voluminous, light filled home with modern detailing and a minimalist feel. Ceilings were raised to 12.5' and floor to ceiling windows flood the space with light. Low maintenance concrete floors with radiant heat were poured over existing wood framing. Living spaces were reoriented to the backyard with a dramatic roof overhang protecting a large patio. On the exterior, new eaves create a horizontal roofline underscored by a band of cement fiberboard paneling. Existing brick veneer was painted rather than replaced to aid the budget.
