Located above Madison Valley on a hillside corner lot, this 4-unit townhouse project is designed as a dramatic addition to the neighborhood. Rooftop decks take full advantage of the views. We worked with the City’s Design Review process to get land use departures to allow front stoops to link the units directly with the sidewalk, thus increasing the sense of connection of the units to the neighborhood. The project attracted the interest of the City Council's Land Use Committee. A year later, the City of Seattle passed a new code which created a new category of multifamily housing called 'Rowhousing' to encourage the creation of more projects like this one.
